Who we are<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are a “not for profit” social group for single people and couples aged over 50 who like to enjoy an active and vibrant social life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We provide our members with all kinds of social events to enjoy through our monthly programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Costs just \u00a35 monthly following a free, four week introductory period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why not give us a try?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Currently we have a mix of ages from 45 year olds (singles and couples) to well past retired with a span of interests for all types of things. Age is certainly not a restriction here when it comes to having a good time and joining in the fun. Don’t assume everything revolves around drinking and partying either. We also run ‘quieter’ events like quizzes, going out for meals to Friends homes or restaurants, theatre visits, dancing, cycling and walking and lots more. You don’t need to stay at home all alone when there is so much going on at the Group all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hold a regular “club night” meeting every Monday evening (except bank holidays) from 8.30pm at the Woodmans Rest pub, Union Road, Shirley, B90 3DB. Go into the pub from the rear entrance and you will find us on the right hand side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\t\tWhat our members say…\n\t<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Having lost my wife after being happily married for 42 years I have to admit that even with the support of family and friends I took the loss very badly. Fortunately, an acquaintance, now a good friend, introduced me to Friends in Solihull. As well as making new friends I now have a full and varied social life. For me the group has helped me rebuild my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am so pleased to have found the group early in 2015. I quickly discovered it was going to become a very important part of my daily life. The thought of me hosting an event was a non starter at that time. That is until I started joining in with things that I had previously never attempted and decided I wanted to give something back to the group for others to enjoy. I can now play ten pin bowling, crazy golf and have mastered the art of playing cribbage. There are always plenty of opportunities to eat a variety of meals out as well!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
